Light Bright USA

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How does Light Bright work?
A. We use a double sided mouthpiece/lens that is impregnated with a special whitening gel and other essential ingredients. The gel is activated by the scientifically designed and patented accelerator lighting unit.

Q. How long does this process take and what are the results?
A. Results can vary as everyone is different. The grade of your teeth and your age can affect the process. Teeth typically lighten 4-7 shades.

Q. How long will this process last?
A. One to two years is not unusual, but typically, we recommend pursuing another treatment in about one year. Of course if you would like to come back sooner if necessary due to your particular lifestyle.

Q. Is Light Bright safe?
A. Research has shown that if the teeth and gums are normal and healthy there should be no adverse effects to bleaching one's teeth. People with severe tooth decay or with any type of gum disease should avoid this treatment. Pregnant women should also avoid the procedure although no known side effects are affirmed, but it is simply a precaution. Additionally, the accelerator light should never be administered to someone that is photosensitive or taking photosensitive medication.

Q. Who may benefit from the Light Bright system?
A. Almost everyone can enjoy the benefit of the bleaching process if their teeth and gums are healthy. Remember, teeth can not be bleached whiter than genetically possible. Tetracycline stains are a challenge and may require more than one treatment. Stains resulting from excessive fluorides or if the teeth are very porous may yield little or no results. Excluding the above, about 95% of our clients experience noticeable results.

Q. Is this procedure done by a dentist?
A. No, this bleaching process is self administered with the assistance of trained professionals in teeth whitening, but are not dentists.

Q. I have a crown on my teeth. Will your product whiten my crown?
A. Bleaching removes stains from things like tobacco and coffee. Plus, this treatment is safe for crowns, composites, bridges and veneers.

Q. Are there any side effects?
A. Some people may feel a little tingling sensation, white gum line, or sensitivity, all of which are normal and hold no real danger. Typically, this will only last from a couple of hours and should diminish after 24 hours.

Q. How long before I can eat or drink after my treatment?
A. The first 24 hrs we would recommend avoiding coffee, tea, dark colored sodas, red wines, berries, candy, red sauces, beets, or any foods that have the propensity to stain. Remember, if it leaves a tee shirt stained, it will stain your teeth.
